At the end of 1997 I started my work in Ibin Alnafis hospital in Damascus. I was surprised because the hospital was not equipped for doing brain surgery. As I brought my brain surgical instruments from Moscow, I decided to do the surgery in the hospital with my own surgical instruments. My first patient was suffering from a headache and exophthalmia in the right eye. The CT SCAN photo showed that he has cranio-orbital tumor. I had the necessary tools for surgery, but the problem was that the table of the surgery room hasn’t a fixing means for head to prevent the head from moving during surgery. I intended to cancel the surgery, but one of the doctors, who is specialized in mandible surgery, said to me that the surgery table of the mandible surgery has a tools for fixing the head. I moved the patient to mandible surgery room, then I did the cranio-orbital surgery. The removal was completed, the eye came back to its normal situation without any damage. The CT SCAN medical report, after the surgery, showed that the removal was completely. The patient left the hospital after 8 days. I published an article in the daily newspaper titled “unique services in IBIN-AL-NAFEES Hospital, I explained in that article that at INBIN-AL-NAFEES Hospital in Damascus, we began to do the skull base surgery. That modern surgery enables us to do the remove the big tumors of eye, nose and brain. I called patients, whom sent to nuclear medicine centre in Damascus because their brain, face’ tumors can’t be subjected to surgery, to visit us with photos to do the surgery for them according to modern skull base surgery methods. Next surgery was to remove facial tumor, so I did this surgery trans facial removal of the tumor and the result shown complete remove the tumor. The director of the health and the responsible of the nervous surgery were very angry due these surgeries, which we began to do in IBIN-AL-NAFEES Hospital. They informed the director of the hospital that the hospital hasn’t the right to do such surgeries. The director began to put obstacles to my work, especially when I ask doing CT SCAN photos to my patients. For doing such photos, we must have the signature of the Hospital Director, who began to refuse to sing such applications. Problems began to happen between me and him daily.
The patients began to visit me due successful surgeries at IBIN-AL-NAFEES Hospital. I had not a private room, so I was obligated to see my patients in the corridor. I noticed that the main complaint of the most patients , is the headache, so I had to distinguish between the headache caused by a disease inside the brain, which I was interested in as I am a specialist of brain surgery, and the most common headache (vascular headaches) caused by an internal disease, which I don’t treat them as a neurosurgeon and I transfer this case to an internal neurological doctor. Of course, the migraine is one of vascular headaches. As I mentioned above, I was speaking to my patients in the corridor, so I cant do a clinical examination so I had a very simple idea, which enables me to distinguish between the vascular headaches and headaches caused by disease inside the brain. The idea is to do a finger pressure over the artery (Superficial Temporal Artery) -in front of tent of the ear-, then I ask the patient weather the tension of the headache decreases or not. If he answered yes, it means that it is a headache of vascular origin, and if the patient answered no, I make a complete nervous clinical examination to him in order to be sure if he has a disease inside the brain or not. As I'm a skull base neurosurgeon so involuntary I choice the place where the main STA branch appear in front of the ear before it do its bifurcation into 2 branches frontal and parietal. This place was the key of migraine solution.
I was surprised because all patients answered that: “the headaches disappeared completely when pressing by the finger in this place.  At this time I knew the secret of migraine headaches and any vascular headaches that only extra-cranial arteries causes the headache itself while intra-cranial arteries causes all accompanied symptoms. I thought directly about migraine patients, because only in migraine when I cure the headaches, so I cure the disease itself. I called the place where I do pressure over the STA in the front of the ear for frontal-temporal-ocular migraine place # 1, Some cases of ocular migraine and all cases of cluster headaches they need additional pressure over the branches of STA over the eye and I called it place # 2. Also I discovered the points # 3 for migraine headaches in the back region of the head, (basilar migraine). Place # 3 for pressure over the occipital artery located behind each ear. My migraine pressure points give 3 helps to migraine patients: 1- Make patient understand his disease, as an easy disease that can be easy get rid of it.  2- Self cure using this migraine points to do my simple migraine devices. 3- Simple surgical treatment, under a local anesthesia as it’s only a skin surgery and without any kinds of side effects. Place # 1, and Place # 3, are my discovery but Place # 2 is known before.
